One of the most powerful features of Rapid-I is the ability to generate drawings and reverse engineer their design. The graphical drafting tools shown in the Graphics section allow for rapid construction of lines, segments, circles and arcs. The FasTrace tool has been especially developed for efficient and quick tracing of component profiles. The tool by default allows the drawing of straight line segments, but right-clicking converts the straight line to an arc. Further, the end of one line becomes the starting point for the next line/arc. Therefore, the user can rapidly trace out a component’s profile with this tool. Once the complete profile has been traced, simply click on Export to CAD to save the drawing as a DXF file. This file can then be further edited/modified in your CAD software suite.
